Zerzevan Castle

ARSENAL

AD 3-7. century

The largest structure of the settlement is located to the north of the church. This building, which has two sections with a narrow and long form, is 10.9x36.4 m. dimensions. The building, which has a gable roof, is thought to be an arsenal, and there is a substructure on the north wall, which may be an entrance gate on the west side. The eastern wall of the building, which stood until 1975, can be seen today as it was demolished.  Details about the function of the building can only be reached through excavations. To the north of the arsenal, there is a transition area thought to be a meeting place where there is no construction and the bedrock has been leveled.
